My One Word

FOCUS is the state or quality of having or producing clear visual definition. I have chosen this word because i have put myself in a position where i need to FOCUS on what i need accomplished this year. I am a new teacher , also i am in a masters program with no background knowldge of the content while I’m also in a ACP program . I am doing all these things while taking care of a 7 year old . I need to FOCUS so by the end of the semester i will pass my PPR and have my teaching certification. I need to FOCUS so that I can pass my classes and learn more about the content area. I need to FOCUS so that i can keep up with my job and try not to loose it on the first year. Also I need to FOCUS on my daughter so that i can get her where i need her to be for when she moves on to the 3rd grade. I recently read an article on HISD that said that they are going to FOCUS on reading literature for the children so that they may be able to read on their grade level. They are starting with elementary level and they will work their way to secondary schools. If we FOCUS on the literature an d find ways that the kids can comprehend the literature we will have higher test scores. During this semester i will have the word FOCUS embedded in my mind because I can not loose FOCUS and if i loose FOCUS i can not succeed with all. I’m trying to accomplish in these few months.

Book, Head, & Heart Strategy

Many issues and obstacles often times find their way into the school system, trying to jeopardize the education of younger children and teens. One obstacle that most children and students face everyday is this phrase: Learning to read and Reading to Learn. What's Your Reading or Writing Space ?

Within Questions for Interviews or Written Reflections, there are three main discussion questions considered when it comes to reading and writing. The first question: How would you describe the best reading experience you could possibly have? this is a question that talks about what type of environment needs to be considered when you or another individual is trying to get the best out of their book. This goes also for the second question: How would you describe your very best writing experiences?
